Dogfish Head Craft Brewery is an adventurous small brewery located in Milton, Delaware. Their beers are regarded as the most interesting, creative, and exciting craft beers available. Skull Coast Ale Company Debuts With Maelstrom IPA
A microbrewery located in Fort Mill, SC
The Skull Coast Ale Company is a brand new microbrewery based out of Fort Mill, SC. They create big, bold, high-gravity ales that celebrate the people, culture and history of the Carolinas during the Golden Age of Piracy. Their first offering is the Maelstrom India Pale Ale. From Skull Coast on their debut brew:
Maelstrom IPA uses only the finest ingredients on the market. We start with a number specialty malts, including Maris Otter, Victory and Carastan, to give this 7% ABV ale perfect body and color. We then add premium Northwest hops almost constantly over 90-minutes, layering them in with numerous hop additions to create a smooth, balanced bitterness. We add another pound per barrel of “dry hops” during conditioning. These 25 additional pounds of hops are a combination of five (5) complimentary Northwest hops to give it a one-of-a-kind hop complexity. With all the additions from the kettle through “dry hopping”, it clocks in at an astounding 85 IBUs. A HopHead's dream. It’s easy to see why it’s called the “Maelstrom IPA.”

The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery brands now in SC!

Comer Distributing Company is the first distributor in South Carolina to sell Olde Mecklenburg Brewery beers. Charlotte's only brewery, OMB brews fresh and great tasting German style beers. They have two brands: Copper and Kolsner, as well as seasonals. From their website, oldemeckbrew.com:

Leon Comer Sr. CDC distributes many types of brands of beer and malt based products along with several non-alcoholic drinks. Our brands are distributed throughout our territories to all retail establishments: grocery stores, convenience stores, bars, and restaurants. The brands we represent include many domestic, craft, and imported brews from around the world. Our current territories include York, Lancaster, Chester, and Fairfield counties, as well as a portion of Kershaw County.
